The 1920s

In 1928, Dewey rose to prominence as a global figure in education.

The progressive movement is known as pragmatics. based on William James's concepts. Additional Instrumentaliams: The mind is a tool for achieving goals; concepts are malleable and adaptable; they are only useful and retained in connection to the essential functions they serve; new learning only occurs as a result of the challenges present in every situation; therefore, real learning occurs only through doing.
